Not AMAZING, but COOL nonetheless!

Although nothing AMAZING happened on my recent overnight with a friend (other than not having to jump out bed to meet every demand of hungry children at 7AM!!), I was able to complete 23 cards in the span of about 5 hours. And I had a great time just enjoying what I love while listening to awesome music on a new little electronic gadget, my Ipod Shuffle.

Here are a few of my creations - simple design, fast and easy to accomplish, a great outcome with little effort. And once I do one I can just reproduce in a different color scheme. Of course, I have my "old standbys" that rescue me all the time - like the baby card design. This is a Jennifer classic. Scoring two vertical lines from top to bottom gives the card depth. The colored image can be coordinated to whatever the occasion, the eyelets are a nice, simple embellishment, and the ease of completion makes it fun to create.

I LOVE matchbook cards - the design is so cute! The stamp set I used here is called a "builder" set because you use several different stamps to build a scene. I'm not a very flowery girl, and I really hesitated before buying this set from Stampin Up, but I have used the heck out of it. Definitely a worthy purchase. (Makes up a little for all those unworthy stamp purchases I've made over the years!) And the paper is glossy - LOVE IT! Makes the colors really pop. And you don't need embellishments on this card. The ink transfer is so fabulous with glossy paper.

You can see the same thing on the butterfly card. The purples and pinks just pop out. This card took like 2 minutes to make. Two stamped images - bam, bam - you're done!

Are you beginning to see the pattern here? My stamping used to be so much more about the creative process. I would spend 2 hours (or more!) meticulously piecing together the perfect work of art (which, btw, I send to that one person who doesn't even notice it's handmade and casually tosses it in the garbage, CRINGE), but since having children it's really become - "What can I do really fast that will look really good?" Sometimes I succeed, sometimes not, but Hallmark hasn't gotten any money from my wallet in years. And that's all that matters...hehe.

Very cute. Actually I was just thinking the other day about birth announcements. I wanted to volunteer to make them for you but I think I recall (maybe incorrectly) that you prefer to make them yourself. I don't know why I love making birth announcment. It's so fun. So if you want to take me up on it, I can make your B.A. for you. (That is if you let me have creative license....)

I have to say, I haven't made a card in years. Literally, years! I have about four cabinets in the kids bathroom that are full of all kinds of craft stuff. I get in there sometimes when I'm looking for something specific, but other than that, I try not to mess with it until I have "a place." I miss it though. Actually, I miss all things creative right now. The only thing we seem to have time for these days is creating more kids! (I hope that didn't sound suspicious. We are done with that kind of creating!) I love your cards.
